MEH!
Mildly amusing, not up to your usual standard.
July 14th, 2008 at 2:06 am
I think it’s rather amusing. The poor fellow seems to put all his hopes and dreams on that machine and it’s “sophisticated” technology, but in the end succumbs to the oversight of not making it susceptible to water.
The robot seems to not be enjoying himself, either. He almost seems to have a puzzled look on his face.

Er, I kind of mangled waht I was trying to say there, but I hope you see the point. >.<
July 14th, 2008 at 2:44 am
This is funny.
But I thought you were going to make a story?
July 14th, 2008 at 2:46 am
Ignore what I just said. I didn’t see the chimp update. Thought that he was writing a story arc for this site, and that he was going to post the first one today.

I love it, I can see the fish in the next panel drifting the surface…bellies up…Oh god…
July 14th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
You’re not doing as good as you always do but it’s still good
July 14th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
That’s a duuuumb joke, but I mean that in a good way. I totally laughed. Great lighting effect in the third panel! Looks really nice.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:32 am
Unfortunately, this is the first SCP in quite a while that I haven’t liked at all.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:42 am
I don’t really understand why this one is turning out to be a three. You guys are hard to predict sometimes. . .
July 15th, 2008 at 1:08 am
Its a little confusing to me, the guy in Panel 1 calls him a submersible robot but then in Panel 3 he’s not waterproof?
July 15th, 2008 at 7:44 am
@Kevin:
I think the audience of this webcomic expects clever strips. This is pretty basic. Still funny though.
July 15th, 2008 at 8:25 am
It worked for me because I expected something more advanced.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Hah, there’s always a few freaks in the crowd, but in the end.. the majority go for clever stuff.
July 15th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Yeah, this one was good. I mean, compared to some of your other stuff, not the best, but still. Who the fuck judges this comic versus *random comic number* anyway? Take it as it is, no comparisons.
July 16th, 2008 at 2:18 am
Predictable, but hilarious.
The robot’s eyes: ‘O_o this isn’t supposed to happen.’
When will the humans learn? (I’m still giggling)
July 16th, 2008 at 6:56 am
Funnier if in panel one you get rid of submersible. I think that makes more sense atleast.
July 17th, 2008 at 10:10 am
I didn’t like this one…didn’t speak to me and was rather too silly.
July 17th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Somehow this joke seems too simple to me.
But hey, I like 9 out of 10 of your strips, and I have been a daily visitor for a long time, so don’t worry, pal
July 17th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
Oh, and I agree with MagicWalker!
July 18th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
I really like this one, the scientist has clearly spent a great deal of his time, perhaps his life, creating what he thought would revolutionize our way of thought about the ocean. I find it even funnier when I think about the people I’m around most frequently, engineers, who take great lengths to solve all of the issues that most would not think of or find need to resolve, but manage often to forget to solve the obvious problems.
July 18th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Didn’t they mess up a Mars lander because they forgot to convert something into metric?
July 20th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
The words ‘jumped the shark’ come to mind when thinking about this website
July 21st, 2008 at 6:59 am
The punchline is this comic is the guy forgot to make the Nemo, waterproof. Hence when he drop Nemo in the water, he short circuit upon touching it. For all its advance technology he developed, he forgot to most important thing for a submersible.
July 21st, 2008 at 2:41 pm
What REALLY did it for me is the importance of DEEP and INACCESSABLE, then the thing going on the surface and failing.
July 26th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
I just notice the camera man.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
It’s slapstick, but it works because, like most SCP humor, it’s also really depressing.
September 5th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
wow. you people can be hard to please sometimes
I think it’s hilarious. Maybe a little predictable but not enough to make it not funny.
November 7th, 2008 at 4:56 am
In the second frame, it looks like a pokemon! =D
December 8th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
You ruin too many of your comics with poor dialogue.
You're an amazing artist who conveys a joke very well, but your text also limits the joke.
So what if people can't get it right away? So what if people interpret it differently? You don't have to appease the masses who come here and compare your panels to say…pokemon.
Now I want to see a strip about you – doing a strip about mainstreaming and commerce – put on a t-shirt.

Sorry for the deep analysis, back to the one line hidden joke:
“The cables are made of metal, hope the human is enjoying his last moment”
