Making New Friends
If you like SCP, remember to buy a copy of the book here. It takes about to month from ordering to delivery, so get those orders in early!
It takes a while because each copy is hand-crafted by a team of narcoleptic gnomes.

it’s a bit morbid.

You’re right about it taking a long time, I’m moving and it still hasn’t arrived. Is it possible to change the delivery address?

I’m not sure – that’s all handled by the people at ka-blam. They’re kind of hard to get a hold of though, so I would think probably not. Are you getting your mail forwarded?
Sorry to everyone who has had to wait so long. If it’s any consolation, I am also waiting for my order to go through

And that is why Asimov had his laws. All robots should be required to be manufactured to follow them by law.

A good one but its rather morbid and violent.

Haha! My favorite one in a while. Morbid often = hilarious people! Don’t you know what has two legs and bleeds??
May 29th, 2008 at 12:57 am
Answer: a puppyl
May 29th, 2008 at 12:58 am
Shit. That wasn’t right at all.
Answer is: HALF a puppy.
That’s what I get for posting after drinking!

What’s this? A dead PUPPY joke? I think you may have just revolutionized the dead baby genre, Amy!
Also, awesome comic today. Hahaha, kids.

Sorry, but about the best I’ve got for this is ‘Yay, squished bullies!’
I don’t see how he’s having trouble making new friends at such a young age, though. Must be his old robot was outdated, so the kids teased him. Now they will love him because of the new model!

Actually Shou I think you take for granted his super-geekness enabling him to be like by nowone even at a young age….In other words he’s wearing a tie to presumably kindergarten!
Though I like your version too.

What has two legs and bleeds? I was thinking of a menstruation joke…

What bleeds for five days but doesn’t die?
May 31st, 2008 at 2:29 am
Why change the strip? The original final panel was better.

“What bleeds for five days but doesn’t die?”
The hobo I have tied up in my basement?

I understand his rage… chess bleh :p
May 31st, 2008 at 7:05 pm
What was the original final panel?
June 1st, 2008 at 1:09 am
Yeah, that’s the only final panel I’ve seen, and I’m pretty sure I saw it very soon after it was uploaded.
June 1st, 2008 at 3:19 am
The original one had the middle panel’s line as something like “Want to play a game?”
The original final panel had the line as something like “I don’t like this game.”
June 1st, 2008 at 9:54 am
You’re right, that does sound a little better.

Your comics are possibly the most depressing things on the planet.
They’re well done and rather clever, however.
Whenever I’m feeling too cheerful, I just browse the archives.

Is this perhaps a reference to wargames? I guess they’re all just lucky he didn’t propose a game of global thermonuclear war

The “play a game” versions sounds a lot less sophisticated than the chess version, and it seems more likely that the boy’s parents would buy him a robot that is more sophisticated than the average RoboPal(TM). One thing that sometimes ruins the strip for me is that I have a tendency to glance at all the panels before reading the text, so sometimes the punchline is revealed too soon. In this case I hadn’t noticed the blood on the robot’s feet, so after having read the middle panel I thought that the boy would use the robot to gain friends by letting them ride on the robot’s back. Which would also have been a suitably ignoble usage for a Master of Chess and Other Intellectual Pursuits. But hey, I like morbid just fine!

Two months and this one still makes me giggle.

The only winning move is not to play…
