He was shocked so much that he forgot about wraith, which got too close and caught the boy in a kind of ectoplasmic field, which overwhelmed his free will and made him follow the wraith. Then, which is not shown, the wraith eaten the boy and, presumably, gave 'boneses' to troll. I think I got it. So… he found his dead twin.
