Well, they can’t use their spears, but as one person pointed out, they could roll the spheres.
Assuming a 3 ft radius, and neglecting the weight of the container, air, and creature (so, assuming it’s just a sphere of salt water), the weight of the ball works out to be about 778.7 lbs of salt water in each ball. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather take my chances with the spears than being run over by a near-800lb ball.
