For the job that I am starting this summer, I need to learn a bit of Flash. I’ve got a 30 day trial of flash cs3, and I’m going to try to make a simple video-game type thing in that amount of time. I also want to take this opportunity to learn a bit about animation and pixel graphics.
So, as a first step, here’s a walk cycle that I whipped up in Photoshop this afternoon, in glorious animated GIF:

The next step will be to get this guy into flash, and controllable via actionscript.

You’re going to be making a game in flash? But I thought a game needs millions of polys, HDR lighting, bloom, more bloom, mo-cap, million dollar budgets, licensed music tracks (prefferably heavy metal), and all that other next-genny crap in order to be fun…
