They have WAY to many Dinosaurs. Also, the previous ones don’t seem to have cheered him up so why would the triceratops? Silly woman, thinks miniture extinct animals solve all problems.
March 4th, 2008 at 4:20 am
at least she’s trying

I think it’s more that he is an emo little bitch, if miniature dinosaurs won’t cheer him up then he’s just being a sook for the sake of being a sook.

I like how the difference between the characters’ upper garments and their lower garments and the fact that we never see them together makes it wholly ambiguous as to whether the same two people from the first two panels appear in the third.

Well actully in the first panel, u can see the women is wearing some sort of green lower garment as she is in the last one.
and if the guy is actually sad as we assume, makes sense hed be sitting around in sweat pants and socks.
and i gotta say, thats a hell ‘a’ cute t-rex

i think he wants a life size one.

I guess I don’t get why the word “tiny” is emphasized. That threw me off the whole comic.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:39 am
hell ‘a’?
hella

This is very funny… but I don’t know why!
March 4th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
This is hilarious! I’ve always wanted tiny giant animals to keep me company!
March 4th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Why is he not happy for the tiny little animal? I would be.
March 5th, 2008 at 1:08 am
*i* want a tiny triceratops. or maybe a mini-pterodactyl.
March 5th, 2008 at 1:51 am
It would most definitely cheer ME up.
March 5th, 2008 at 9:39 am
Anyone stop to think they might be giants and the dinos are “normal” sized? Could explain the extinction. hehehe
March 5th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
I just plain don’t get it. I keep reading it over and over, but I don’t understand what point I’m supposed to get out of this. Would someone mind dumbing it down for stupid ol’ me?

I’ve been loving all the updates lately. Great stuff! And this latest one is awesome.

Riot:
A man is sad. We don’t know why. A girl brings him a tiny dinosaur to cheer him up. It doesn’t really work. It turns out that he already has a lot of tiny dinosaurs (probably given to him by the girl).
Aside from that, there’s not much to get… it’s funny for suspicious reasons!
I like Jez’s quote: “Silly woman, thinks miniture extinct animals solve all problems.”

This reminds me of the episode of Infinite Solutions (www.marksinfinitesolutions.com) with the tiny dinosaurs.

It’s about how things are perverted from their original existance to use them commercially.
Dinosaurs, what was awesome about them? their strength, size, etc. these small dinosaurs have none of that which was essential to our idealized image of dinosaurs. The guy’s not happy because they don’t really have the aspects he admires in dinosaurs, because they’re small and cute or whatever.
it’s basically just about comercialism.
March 26th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Wouldn’t the tiny dinosaurs be fighting each other? Surely some of them would want to rip the others to shreds! And then there would be a tiny war! Oh no!
April 3rd, 2008 at 11:39 pm
I don’t get it. =/
Oh, but you’re right, Tofudisan; they *MIGHT* be giants.
April 10th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
I want a tiny live triceratops! Whee!
April 10th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Also, has anyone ever seen the show “Firefly”?
Wash plays with plastic dinos while he’s waiting to pilot the spaceship. “We will call it….This Land.” “I think we should call it your grave!” “Ack! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!” “Grr!’ (That’s a T-Rex and a plant-eater, his toys, talking. He always has his toys on the “dash” when he’s flying, in every episode.)

this is one of my favorites so far.
for those of you who don’t get it, here are my thoughts on it:
she’s trying to cheer him up and there’s an emphasis on tiny. why? it’s just that it seems impossibly small for extremely large critters. it’s just like how the ipod nano is the best thing in the world because it’s smaller and less capable than other ipods. tiny is the novelty of modern times. then add in that any normal person would be incredibly cheered up by a dinosaur, and a tiny cute dinosaur would be even better. last, we get the reveal: tiny dinosaurs all up in his house/apartment/etc. the fact is he has not been cheered up at all which leads us to believe that 1) a tiny dinosaur can’t cheer him up or 2) the novelty of tiny dinosaurs that might have slightly cheered him up once have lost their appeal. for instance, if i tell everyone i know that i love cinnamon rolls and i could eat them every day for the rest of my life and then everyone starts sending me cinnamon rolls, i’m gonna get pretty sick of them soon.
here, it’s not particularly important if she personally gave him all the dinosaurs because either way is more or less the same - it didn’t work before and it ain’t working now. however, if she personally did it all, you have the added possibility that the tiny dinosaurs are just her thing and mean even less to him.
in any case, i loved it. i want a tiny dinosaur. great reveal.

He doesn’t look as sad to me as nervous. Look at the last panel, there’s a tiny stegosaurus near his foot, he only has socks on an probably steps on the tiny underfoot annoying dinosaurs that are following him around. He probably would have appreciated it more if she hadn’t gotten him THE MOST POINTY DINOSAUR YET! Now the allosaurus might nip a bit and the brontosauruses seems mostly benign to the feet, but she should have gotten him another ankylosaurus. I bet they feel good underfoot and then he’d have a matching set of dinosaur foot massagers.

He’s obviously sad because all he really wanted was a miniature Apatosaurus, but she never brings him one.
