I like the new shading personally, it will help him get a whole lot better, where as the flat, not so much. The dude in the first panel especially looked noticeably better.
I liked the cartoon style more. At first glance I decided to clean my monitor. Something about this shading just seems wrong. The background factory actually looked okay, but it looks like someone smudged the cyber-paint on everything else.
Must take a while to do too.
While I agree the new shading isn’t quite there yet, I do feel it could easily be the next step in the art style of this comic. All it needs is a bit of practice and polish and I think it could start to look amazing. Both the man on the first panel and the factory in the last panel are testament to how good this could look. I’m excited to see how it looks six strips from now.
Arg, the suspense is killing me. I must say I was initially dubious about a story, “that’s not the SCP we know and love” I thought. But now I’m hooked, what’s going to happen to the poor robot????
This storyline is really boring. I wouldnt mind but you take a long time to make comics and these ones arent funny. Please go back to your old black humor!
C’mon Kevin, finish this storyline. I wanna know what happens to the robot! I know you were having some trouble early on with the story comics but I really think you were starting to get good at it, and you can only improve with practice.

This strip makes a good metaphor for the liberal arts major’s post-graduate experience.

Haha, that’s well observed TIm333. It’s so true, although in my case doing a humanity will set me up for life excellently!!!! :S

New rendering style eh?
Personally, I prefer the solid colour of olde to this new fangled shading.

No wonder this model didn’t sell. Who the hell wants a liberal arts robot? It’s not like there’s a shortage of English majors.
