I just discovered this comic today. I have to say, you have a talent for mixing humor and melancholy.

    Um, ew.

I’m kind of getting the vibe(by the ‘miscalculated..AGAIN) that the robokid might have been the one to kill whoever was in the coffin to alleviate her anger at them. that is just so…. wow.

  8. charles

    this strip alleviated my sadness

  9. Sarah

Wait… that’s a coffin? I thought it was a treasure chest! In which case the strip would be both less disturbing AND ironically funny!

Of course, where the robot would get a treasure chest I don’t know.

Personally, I feel that the comic strip is, while not really funnier, more insightful, disturbing and on the whole a better comic strip if it’s a coffin. It’s also more original. A tresure chest would be sort of clichéd, I know of many comics where someone (like a small child) brings something and the parents chase them away or something and at the end it turns out to be valuable. This is much better as a comic and I like Marik’s idea that the robot may be the one to have killed her child.

… and it’s kind of “AI” movie quote, isn’t it?

Once again, the brilliant mix of tragic humor amazes me. For those that don’t understand it, the women is mourning the loss of a loved one and the robot dug them up on the pretense it would cheer her up…
@ Sarah: A treasure chest???? (Wow, some folks are dense, huh?)
